Our Client

Philips Germany GmbH comprises the divisions Lifestyle, Lighting and Healthcare. The area Healthcare is represented in Germany by Philips Medizin Systeme Böblingen GmbH, with offices in more than 60 countries and production facilities in the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Israel and the USA. In total, around 33,000 employees work for the company.

The Challenge

As contract logistics provider for Philips Medizin Systeme GmbH, Müller Lila Logistik Deutschland GmbH operates a warehouse. So far, all warehouse tasks were managed via the existing SAP® system, as well as a non-SAP® warehouse management system. The company wanted to replace the previous paper-based warehouse processes and accelerate process throughput times in the warehouse.

All postings had to be entered immediately and directly into the SAP® system. The aim was to make the transactions easier to manage and process.

The Solution

Due to its modular construction manner and multitude of existing SAP® standard transactions, the client opted for the ICS solution mobile4SAP®. Other factors that weighed into the decision was the use of SAP® ITSmobile, the standard for imaging of mobile processes recommended by SAP®, and the creation of all transactions in ABAP. In addition, SAP® ITSmobile supports the output of voice messages. The starting point of the ICS mobile4SAP® solution is the Basis Framework with which all customer needs are quickly and easily implemented.

From the 150 available mobile transactions of the mobile4SAP® solution, several SAP® transactions were selected and flexibly adapted to the customer needs.

The Result

Thanks to the use of the ICS solution mobile4SAP®, all paper-based storage tasks were replaced by MDE supported processes. As a result, processing times in the warehouse have been significantly expedited. All stock movements and inventory changes are recognized directly in SAP®. The user-friendly design of the transaction layouts contributed significantly to acceptance by end users. Due to the success of the project in the warehouse, additional transactions were selected from the mobile4SAP® package and expanded into production. The rollout of ICS mobile4SAP® to other international locations is planned.
